چکیده

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) almost invariably develops following the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm, and is often complicated by intracerebral hematoma (ICH) and intraventricular hematoma. Subdural hematoma (SDH) can occur rarely. Reported incidence of SDH associated with aneurysm bleed varies from 0.5 to 7.9%.1,2 In most cases SDH is associated with SAH and/or ICH. Intracranial aneurysmal rupture may cause acute SDH with or without radiologic evidences of SAH.3,4 In this report, we are describing the pathophysiology and radiologic features of SDH with aneurysm bleed.

Acute Aneurismal Bilateral Subdural Haematoma without Subarachnoid Haemorrhage: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Spontaneous pure acute bilateral subdural haematoma (ASDH) without intraparenchymal or subarachnoid haemorrhage caused by a ruptured cerebral aneurysm is extremely rare. It can follow rupture of different aneurysms specially located in anterior incisural space; the most frequently encountered location is the PcoA aneurysms as demonstrated in the present case. We present a case report of a PcoA ...

TRAUMATIC INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGE IN SEVERE BLUNT HEAD TRAUMA: A ONE YEAR ANALYSIS

ABSTRACT Background: High resolution CT scan has made early diagnosis of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) easier. Posttraumatic intraventricular hemorrhage has been reported to a greater extent because of the CT scan. Methods: 904 patients were admitted in the NSICU from March 2001 to March 2002 with severe closed head injury, of those only 31 patients with intraventricular hemorrhage (GCS le...

Subdural Hematomas Following Intracranial Aneurysm Rupture: A Rare Phenomenon.

Acute Subdural Hematoma (aSDH) due to aneurysm rupture and no subarachnoid bleeding are very rare with only 29 cases reported in literature. A 56-year female presented with headache and drowsiness and a previous history of loss of consciousness. Clinical examination revealed a GCS of 14 and a right sided hemiparesis. Workup revealed a pure subdural hematoma due to a middle cerebral artery aneur...

Rupture of distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysm presenting only subdural hemorrhage without subarachnoid hemorrhage: a case report

Intracranial aneurysm rupture usually manifests with subarachnoid hemorrhage, often combined with intracerebral hemorrhage with intraventricular hemorrhage extension. In rare cases, however, these aneurysms present only as subdural hematomas. Recently, we treated a 48-years-old female patient who presented only with subdural hematoma. Interestingly, she did not have a history of trauma. Compute...
